What is EIMT?

Emotion-regulating improvisational music therapy (EIMT) is a treatment program in which you create music together with a music therapist. You don't need to know music or have any experience. It's not about playing well, but about what the music evokes in you and how you learn to regulate your emotions. The therapist tunes to your playing; you remain in control.

The repetitive nature of collaborative improvisations on cello, marimba, or djembe makes it increasingly easier to regulate emotions and feel different or better. Homework, developed together with the therapist, also helps you apply this to your daily life.

Music therapy

With Emotion-regulating improvisational music therapy (EIMT), we treat adults by making music together and reflecting, so that they can regulate their emotions in a healthier way and reduce depressive symptoms.

We offer individual and small-scale group treatments with clear goals, a relaxed pace, and simple home-based work in consultation.
