Music therapy that promotes healthy emotion regulation and reduces complaints with EIMT.

Welcome to SonaNova

Practice for music therapy, education, and research. We work with Emotion-regulating improvisational music therapy (EIMT).
By making music together in music therapy, we treat adults so that they learn to regulate their emotions in a healthier way and reduce depressive symptoms.

We also train music therapists and conduct further research into EIMT.

For clients

In ten weekly sessions, you'll learn to manage your emotions through music in a healthy and exploratory way, reducing symptoms of depression. You'll develop greater peace, insight, and resilience. No experience is necessary; you'll follow your own path with professional guidance.

About EIMT

With Emotion-regulating improvisational music therapy (EIMT), you'll create music together with a music therapist in ten sessions. You'll work on the cello, marimba, or djembe. The music therapist will tune in to your playing; you're in control. It's not about playing well or musical experience, but about how the music affects you and how it helps you manage your emotions more healthily. Homework you develop together with the music therapist will help you manage your emotions differently in everyday life.
